Objectives of the GNM Course
The nurse on completion of this course at this institute will be able to:

Demonstrate competency in providing health care to the individuals, sick and well.

Function effectively with the members of health care team in the hospital and in community.

Demonstrate use of ethical values in their personal and professional life.

Recognize the need for updating education for the professional development.

Demonstrate interest in activities of professional organizations.

Assist in research activities.

Demonstrate basic skills in teaching patients and giving nursing care to them.
The course of training
G.N.M. – General Nursing and Midwifery course covers a complete period of three years.
Eligibility Criteria (As per Indian Nursing Council)

Student has to be unmarried

Minimum and maximum age for admission will be 17 yrs and 35 yrs respectively as on 30th Sept. 2006
Educational Qualifications

10+2 class pass or its equivalent with 45% marks preferably with science subjects (40% for SC/ST)

Crossed bank draft for Rs. 200 as registration fee in favour of Kular Medical Education and Research Society, Bija payable at Khanna.

An attested copy of the Matriculation certificate and 10+2 certificate.

Character certificate from the Principal of the last institute attended.

Medical fitness certificate to be got done by the candidates at their own cost at Kular Hospital, Bija.

Affidavit on stamped paper as per the specimens given on the back of the admission form.

Incomplete applications/those received late shall be rejected.
